1:1 Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant

Do you have experience supporting pupils with autism? Would you like the opportunity to work in an OFSTED graded ‘Good’ school?

The school is based in the DE3 (Mickleover) area The role is full time and will begin Sept 2024. The hours of work will be 08:30-16:00

The main duties within the role will be:

• Working in the school’s enhanced resource unit
• Supporting pupils with social and emotional needs
• Working on a 1:1 basis with pupils who struggle to engage in class
• Leading interventions around positive communication and teamwork
• Managing the challenging behaviours of targeted individuals

The school are looking for someone who:

• Is able to build relationships with pupils who present with autism
• Has at least one years experience working in a school
• Has excellent classroom control and behaviour management
• Can communicate effectively with pupils and colleagues
• Will work effectively on your own and also as part of a team
• Can act as a positive role model for the children
