SANZA Teaching Agency are currently supporting a large Primary School in Wembley, who are recruiting for an afterschool club leader. The role of the Room Leader of the After School Club is to work as part of the management team to lead the day-to-day organisation of the After School Club by providing high standards of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 4-11 years old in a safe and secure environment.

• Compliance of all regulatory requirements stated in the Early Years Foundation Stage and by Ofsted.
• Positive working relationships with staff members, outside professionals, parents and carers.
• Happy, supported and engaged children.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• To lead the day to day organisation of the After School Club
• Pass on correspondence to teachers from parents/carers and vice versa.
• Create a safe, welcoming and friendly environment delivering high quality creative play opportunities embracing each child’s individual needs, unique qualities and personalities.
• Encourage the use of the home, school and nursery diary.
• Liaise with the school with regard to the needs of the children who attend the After School Club.
• Liaise with parents to encourage parental involvement and support through the development of effective working relationships, providing professional and relevant feedback to parents/carers about their child.
• Provide care, play opportunities and activities in a homely and nurturing environment, with regard to the individual development needs of the children and age ranges of children.
• Fully support inclusive practice and ensure that all children can be involved in the activities offered if they wish.
• Consult and liaise with the children and involve them in the planning of activities.
• Support all children, as well as parents/carers with the transition from home to Nursery and school to Nursery.
• Ensure the After School Club Room learning journey is completed and accurately maintained.

Working Hours:

• (Monday-Friday, 4pm – 6.00pm) term time only (39 weeks a year).

Requirements:

• GCSE English & Mathematics or equivalent at grade A-C
• Experience working with young children and/or Aspiring Teacher
• Excellent communication skills to deal with both colleagues and parents
• A passion for supporting children in education, be energetic, enthusiastic and motivated
