Job Title: Assistant Headteacher / SENDCo

Apple A Day are seeking an Assistant Headteacher (with SENDCo responsibilities) to join a friendly team at one of our partner primary schools in the Trowbridge area. This is a full-time,permanent position with much of the role not classroom based, but more focused on wider provision, planning, and management.
This positive, forward-looking school has a supportive staff and is at an exciting time of growth and progression. Currently in the process of joining a local trust, there are ample opportunities for collaboration, professional development and learning from other colleagues – especially those within the established resource bases across the trust.
This role will be based within the Senior Leadership Team, working to lead inclusion across the current school site and with a strategic overview of a new building project, specifically the development of two Resource Base classrooms, with support from colleagues within the school and local area.
The school are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic member of staff who could continue well developed inclusive practices within the setting. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside other school based and local leaders to strategically plan for the embedding of that inclusive practice, when the resource base classrooms open.
The ideal candidate will be an established teacher with a secure knowledge of SEND and a passion for embedding an ethos of inclusion and equity. This would be an excellent opportunity for someone who feels they have some leadership experience, which they would like to progress further, and is looking for the next exciting step within their career.
Candidates would need to hold the National Award for SENCOs (NASENCO) or be interested in commencing the NPQ for SENCOs (the replacement for NASENCO) qualification, supported by the school, within the Autumn Term of the 2024-25 academic year.
