Are you Level 2 Qualified in British Sign Language and able to fluently communicate using BSL? We are seeking a Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work within Birmingham supporting students with hearing impairments.
About the role:
Designed to support and enhance the learning of students through an approach of total communication, we are looking for someone to work with us on a flexible basis to provide consistency for students with a primary need of communication support.

Skills and Qualifications:
Required:
British Sign Language Stage 2 qualification and are a fluent BSL user.
Experience in providing signed communication support or voice over.
An Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service or willingness to undertake one.
Characteristics and preferred qualifications:
An appropriate NVQ2 in supporting pupils learning would be advantageous.
Someone who is honest with a respectful and positive attitude.
A willingness to put in daily effort to progress skillset and further develop character and success.
Cultivates an environment of inclusivity.
Supports a space of total communication.
Supporting the adaptable, rich, and diverse curriculum.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is A British Sign Language Stage 2 qualification and being a fluent BSL user.
