About the role:
You will be responsible for teaching computer science to pupils aged 11-18, following the national curriculum and preparing them for GCSE and A-level exams.You will plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire pupils to develop their computational thinking and problem-solving skills and foster their creativity and curiosity for the digital world.You will use a variety of teaching methods and resources, including interactive whiteboards, laptops, tablets, robotics, coding software and online platforms, to enhance pupils’ learning and motivation.You will assess and monitor pupils’ progress and attainment and provide them with regular and constructive feedback and support.You will contribute to the development and improvement of the computer science department and participate in cross-curricular projects and initiatives.About you:
You have a recognised teaching qualification and QTS, and a degree in computer science or a related subject.You have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the computer science curriculum and the latest developments and trends in ICT and computing education.You have experience of teaching computer science or ICT at secondary level, and of preparing pupils for GCSE and A-level exams.You have excellent ICT and computing skills, and the ability to use a range of software and hardware effectively and confidently.You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and external partners.You have strong organisational and classroom management skills, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.You have a commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.About the school:
