We are seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor for a secondary school in Hillingdon. This role requires a morning focus on cover management, ensuring minimal disruption to students’ learning due to staff absence, and an afternoon commitment to learning supervision across various subjects. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, patient, and maintain a positive attitude towards children and young people.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Cover Management (7am – 11am):
  • Administer daily class cover arrangements.
  • Organise cover to minimise the impact of staff absence on student learning.
  • Formally line manage a team of 3 cover supervisors.
• Learning Supervision (11am – 3pm):
  • Provide effective cover supervision in a range of subjects in response to short-term teacher absence.
  • Maintain good order in the classroom and ensure students stay on task.
  • Support the learning process by facilitating a constructive environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Desirable:
  • Previous experience within education.
  • Experience working with secondary age students.
  • NVQ3 qualification for teaching assistants or equivalent qualifications/experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of particular curricular areas or key stages.
• Essential:
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Calm, patient, and professional demeanor.
  • Positive attitude towards children and young people.
  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy.
