Deputy Director of Education

As a senior leader in the Diocesan Board of Education, you will be a Christian with an active faith and comfortable leading in an environment where reflection and empathy underpin our work. (Schedule 9, paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010 applies).
Position: Deputy Director of Education (Church School Effectiveness)
Location: Oxford/hybrid
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Salary: £82,000 – £87,000 per annum (dependant on experience and to be agreed in conjunction with the successful candidate)
Contract: Permanent
Start Date: 1st September 2024

The Role
Leading a team of Diocesan School Advisers, the priorities for the successful candidate will be to oversee and coordinate the support for the development of church schools as providers of high-quality educational and spiritual standards and contribute to the effectiveness of ODBE s services and operations.

The Organisation
The Diocesan Board of Education covers the three counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire. It serves 285 schools more than any other in the Church of England. In addition, they work in partnership with 9 local authorities and 21 multi-academy trusts. There are circa 60,000 children educated in Church of England Schools across the Diocese.
An Enhanced DBS Disclosure with barring check will be required for this position.
