Location; Hybrid Role – Predominantly remote working with occasional attendance onsite as and when required
About the Role
The Director of Governance is a Senior Postholder to the RNN Group College Board with a central role to perform ensuring effective governance of the College Group.
In this role you will be responsible to the Board with a central role in ensuring that its proceedings are conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Instrument and Articles of Government, rules and regulations made under the Articles, the relevant Education Acts (as modified or replaced from time to time) and the general law.
You will
You will have a strong understanding and significant experience of corporate governance, with the ability to contribute strategically to the development of the College in its intention to become outstanding’.
You must have experience of providing authoritative advice and advocacy within the area of governance, have strong written and oral communication skills and the confidence to challenge others and knowledge of current developments in FE and charity governance.
You will have a relevant degree and/or professional qualification (i.e. e.g. The Chartered Governance Institute) and Chartered Secretary status or holder of a similar, relevant qualification and a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths.

The role of Director of Governance is accountable to the Board, through the Chair, on all matters relating to the duties as an officer of the Board and supports the Board and its members in evaluating their effectiveness and gives advice on developments within the sector.
