Responsibilities:

As a DT Technician, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Assisting teachers and students in the preparation and setup of materials and equipment for DT lessons and practical activities.
• Maintaining and managing the DT workshop, ensuring it is safe and well-organised.
• Providing technical support during practical lessons, ensuring students follow safety guidelines.
• Overseeing the maintenance and repair of DT equipment and tools.
• Managing inventory and ordering supplies to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
• Collaborating with the DT department to contribute to the development of educational resources and materials.
• Promoting and maintaining a safe and organised working environment for both students and staff.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• Experience in a related field (e.g., previous experience as a DT Technician, workshop technician, or relevant technical background).
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• A genuine interest in design and technology, with a willingness to engage and inspire students in the subject.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures related to DT workshops.
• Knowledge of relevant DT equipment, tools, and materials.
• A commitment to contributing to the educational growth and development of secondary school students.
