Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £26,500 per annum
Contract/Hours: Fixed Term Full Time 40hrs per week (12 months – with possibility to continue depending on available roles within the setting at the time)

Spring RAF Wyton is located in the housing estate next to RAF Wyton base near Huntingdon and is a 78 place setting. There is a baby room, toddler room and a preschool room. Food is cooked fresh daily onsite the nursery follows the Eat Better Start Better programme to ensure nutritional value. We believe that all children build confidence through play and interaction with others which is encouraged.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and initiative-taking graduate with an interest in Early Years to join our team at Spring RAF Wyton. With the Early Years Teacher Status qualification, you will be able to teach children up to 5 in various settings, including reception classes, nurseries and children centres.
Please note that leading teaching in reception classes in mainland schools would require additional qualifications such as QTS.
Spring Nurseries will support our successful applicant to gain the EYTT qualification through our partnership with Best Practice Network.
The qualification duration is 12 months, is fully funded, and you will be paid whilst studying towards your qualification and completing placements in a primary school.
The Early Years Teacher, once qualified forms part of the setting leadership team, alongside the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager and will act as the third in charge and manage the day to day running of the nursery in the absence of the Manager or Deputy. The Early Year’s Teacher will lead on the implementation of the curriculum within the setting, as well as the monitoring and development of teaching and learning.
Completing the qualification is a requirement of the Early Years Teacher role. Once qualified you will be guaranteed an interview for a permanent position as the Early Years Teacher for the setting.
What you will need:
To be eligible for Early Years Initial Teacher Training, you must meet the following entry requirements set by the Department of Education:
GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or recognised equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science.
Equivalency exams are accepted if you do not have GCSEs.
Bachelor’s degree in any area of study.
Right to study and work in the UK.
Competence in spoken and written English.
Spring Nurseries would also require any potential candidate to have the following requirements.
The candidate must demonstrate a passion/experience either personal or professional, working with children.
Strong IT Skills and experience of using various IT systems including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
