Our client located in FY5, Thornton Cleveley’s, is currently seeking a 1:1 EYFS TA to work with a young boy with some behavioural needs. This child needs a firm but fair approach with boundaries set and consistency in their every day routine. This child is integrated into the class alongside a general Ta and Teacher who are also present. This pupil is kind in nature with a great sense of humour but presents frustration with learning. This would be a rewarding role for anyone seeking to make a difference and witness a positive impact first hand.

Our primary is a three form entry OFSTED rated Good school with outstanding features who have an incredible faculty. Ideally you will have prior EYFS experience or a strong understanding of behaviour and learning needs. This position is on a temporary basis January- March 2024, requiring Monday – Friday support 8:30-3:30, there is potential that this could extend into the summer term dependant on a successful match. There is a school car park, local parking and a bus stop directly outside of the school grounds.

Key responsibilities:

• Support your pupil with their learning, behaviour and social awareness in a 1:1 capacity.
• Collaborate with the class teacher regarding targets and expectations.
• Liaise with other professionals within the School eg. SENCO, Teachers, TAs, specialist support staff.
• Support the monitoring and tracking of all pupils in line with the assessment procedures in school.
• Helping support the class teacher with IEP’s
• To develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, physical and emotional/behavioural/medical needs of the child and respond to them effectively
• To assist the class teacher/SENCo with the planning, development and delivery of suitable programmes of work for the pupil.
• To support class teachers to design, create and produce learning activities, materials and resources to support aspects of the curriculum or particular learning outcomes, and to assist and support the child in using them.
• To help, support and motivate the child, clarifying instructions, encouraging independent learning

Essential Requirements:

• Must have knowledge of the EYFS curriculum
• Knowledge of development matters
• Must be an outgoing individual with an ability to engage with pupils to have FUN while learning
• Must be able to work collaboratively and competently within a team
• Must be able to engage learners through play
• Must have childcare Level 2 or above.

Desirable Requirements:

• An understanding of SEN or learning needs.
• Knowledge of the new KS1 and KS2 curriculum.
• Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
