EHCP 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant
We work closely with a Primary School that is based in Cheltenham who are looking for a part time 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant. This role is needed as soon as possible and will be working with a child in lower KS2. The child has an EHCP and so needs daily support with their learning. This role is due to continue until the end of the academic year. This will total to 26.5 hours per week and will be Monday to Friday mornings.
The school is based on the outskirts of Cheltenham and is a large school that is part of a federation. It is a highly rated school, consistently rated as ‘good’ by Ofsted and is reported as a lovely place to work. The school is looking for someone energetic and reliable to join their team, someone who has experience working in the classroom and in particular experience of working with SEMH. You need to be able to demonstrate that you can successfully support the child with their learning.
What will you do on a daily basis?
Work under the direction and guidance of the Head Teacher, SENCo and Class Teacher to assist in the educational and social development of an individual child.
To ensure the maintenance of a clean, orderly and safe working environment making sure that the equipment/resources/materials are set out on time.
To assist the class teacher with learning activities ensuring health and safety and good behaviour of pupils. To support the pupil in accessing learning activities as directed by the class teacher to enable the pupil’s progress towards his targets.
To work with individual programmes devised by other professionals e.g. Speech Therapists, Occupational therapists, etc.
To discuss the progress of these children with the outside agencies, if required.
