This role is to start immediately for a teacher who is able to demonstrate good ability around the key area of teaching & learning. You will either be a subject specialist of English or have a degree in English / Media with extensive English teaching experience. The role will be working at an independent SEND school which caters for SEMH students in the Taunton area. Despite the school background, the key skills sought from a teacher are those with outstanding expertise in delivering learning to previously disengaged learners.

The age range of the students is KS3&4 and with the recent improvements in standards of teaching & learning across the school, the students are both responsive and engaged in their learning. The successful applicant will have a positive and inspiring teaching approach. It’s important that the focus of the teacher is one of encouragement and the ability to motivate & drive each learner to achieve their best potential.

This role will be run through Elementa Education initially with a view to being taken onto permanent contract after an initial trial period. All candidates working through Elementa are expected to engage with their respective role as if employed permanently from the outset. You would be responsible for all aspects of planning, preparing & delivering lessons as well as assessment & attending any required meetings. Elementa Education has a fair play policy, respecting the teacher main pay scale structure and only employ candidates on a PAYE basis (no umbrella companies or self-employed statuses.) All candidates will be eligible for free CPD training relevant to the nature of their Elementa contract role.
