Food Technology/Catering Teacher
An outstanding Special Needs school in Lambeth is recruiting a Food technology/Catering teacher to start in September 2021. This is a long-term requirement via the agency for the full academic year. They are open to receiving applications from candidates who have worked as chefs and lecturers.
The school is in a large purpose-built building with 150 pupils on roll. Pupils are aged 9-19 years old, with EHCPs for social and communication needs, many of the students also have Autism. As well as offering students an engaging curriculum, they also work hard to develop communication and social skills.
There are 40 students in the sixth form department following a range of vocational courses leading to qualifications from Entry Level 1-2 up to level 2.
As Food Technology/catering teacher you will produce schemes of work, manage and co-ordinate the course, as well as planning and implementing the post 16 curriculum for this subject. Additional responsibilities will include undertaking annual reviews and maintaining records and documentation.
The school encourage students to gain employment where possible, you will work with the head of the department assisting students to find employment within the local community.
