Your new company
This medium-sized primary school is in a central location in Cardiff. There are around 275 pupils aged from 3 to 11, including a nursery class. The school has a welcoming and supportive community of staff, parents, and governors. They offer a rich and varied curriculum that includes additional learning needs, forest school, music lessons and thinking tools.
Your new role
The school is looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to work in the foundation phase. The role is full-time, 5 days a week, for the full academic year. You will assist the teacher with planning and delivering lessons and provide individual support when needed for pupils with Additional Learning Needs. You will also support the class teacher in managing the classroom environment and behaviour, ensuring that all pupils are engaged and motivated.
What you’ll need to succeed
You will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to build trust and rapport with both the children and the classroom teacher. You must be patient and calm, with a positive and encouraging demeanour. A Teaching Assistant qualification at level 2 or 3 is preferred, but not mandatory providing that you have recent experience.
