HSDC has an exciting opportunity for someone looking to teach and help students to develop their skills Maths skills
The first part of the role is a Functional Skills Lecturer. This is part-time (0.36FTE) and is a permanent opportunity based at our South Downs campus
Grade 5: £29,616.58 – £35,995.07 (Actual salary – £8,529.57 – £12,958.22) depending on qualifications and experience
The second part of the role is a Maths Coach. This is a part-time (0.5FTE) and is a fixed term role until July 2022 which will be reviewed and may be extended. This part of the role will pay £19.29 per hour. In July, if not extended, this role will continue as a Lecturer in Functional Skills at 0.36FTE.
To succeed in this role, you will have experience of teaching Functional Skills Maths across Entry 1 – Level 2 and be confident in delivering innovative sessions to groups of post-16 students and adults alike. You will also enjoy coaching students on a one to one basis and leading tutorials with students. You will be responsible for monitoring and reviewing students attendance and achievements as well as working with the team to deliver activities and initiatives.
Ideally, you should have a Level 5 or equivalent subject specialism qualification in maths/numeracy in the lifelong learning sector and have your GCSE Maths and English A*-C or equivalent.
The successful post holder should be committed to delivering the highest standards of teaching and be able to inspire students and be an excellent team player. As you will be required to work with our 16-18 year old learners and with our 19+ learners both on site and off site, it would be useful if you have a full clean driving licence.
