We are currently recruiting for Level 2 or higher Teaching assistants to join our vast network of workers to come support our extensive list of clients we work with throughout the North West as we prepare to go back after the February half term. As the demand for qualified and experienced Teaching Assistants increases we are looking for those who are situated throughout the Fylde Coast areas to join us and assist our schools in various roles ranging from Long term, Short term and Day to Day support.

The role would see you provide support within schools based on your skill set, preferences of work and location. You would be expected to provide support and raise attainment for specified children within the classroom, in order for them to achieve their full potential in various parts of the curriculum that would be identified by the teacher. You would be working on a 1:1 basis or within small groups that are identified by the class teacher. You will utilise your skills in delivering work and finding alternative avenues to help engage the student/students who are not performing to the best of their ability, by raising their engagement within lessons and trying to ascertain what is stopping them from attaining the grades they are capable of achieving.

Roles will be open to review in relation to the candidates availability and the clients requirements. There will be opportunities for the right candidate to secure permanent work if they prove to be an outstanding member of the school, so this is a great way to build your way into that career progression and increase your experiences and networks throughout the school community. Depending on requirements of the school you could either be working half days or full time hours between 8:30am and 3:30pm. You are often required to adapt and use your own initiative when in the role of a teaching assistant, meaning you would ideally need to be committed and driven while being able show a willingness to change and adapt to what is required of you within the role.

The duties and responsibilities of this role will be as follows:

• Reading, writing and SPAG support.
• Adjusting or breaking down activities to support participation and understanding.
• Develop a supportive relationship with the child that promotes self esteem and confidence.
• To develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, physical, emotional and behavioural needs of the child and respond to them effectively.
• To liaise with the Teacher and SENCO about the development and support needed at home and in school for the child.
• Monitor and maintain records of the pupils progress.
• To assist with general school duties which may include setting up classrooms, preparing resources and displays and tidying and clearing away
• Supervision of children during lunch times and Supervision of children entering and leaving school premises.

Essential Requirements:

• Knowledge of development matters
• Must be an outgoing individual with an ability to engage with pupils to have FUN while learning
• Must be able to work collaboratively and competently within a team
• Must be able to engage learners through play
• Must have childcare Level 2 or above.
• Knowledge of the new EYFS KS1 or KS2 curriculum
• An understanding of SEN or learning needs.
