St. Albans based Graduate Teaching Assistant
If you are a graduate looking to kick start your career in education then this could be the perfect role for you!
You will be working closely with small groups of students or on a1:1 basis with pupils who require additional support.
Communication is key! You will be expected to use verbal and non-verbal de-escalation techniques for dealing with challenging behaviour or struggling pupils.
Role: Graduate Teaching Assistant
Location: St. Albans
Pay: £65 to £75 per day
We are looking for an individual who has a strong focus on teamwork and communication, able to foster supportive working practices and recognise the needs of distressed individuals
Graduate Teaching Assistant Criteria:
Friendly and caring personality
A desire to help others
Graduate (ideally 2:1 or above)
Previous experience working with children in a TA environment
Good education background (GCSE’s in Maths and English)
-Graduate Teaching Assistant
-SEN Assistants (Specialism in curriculum subjects or one of the four broad areas of need: Communication and Interaction, Cognition and Learning, Social, Emotional and Mental Health, Sensory and Physical needs)
A graduate with a 2:1 degree or above is ideal for this role and a graduate with some previous experience working with children is desirable.
This relevant previous experience could include childcare, tutoring, helping within a nursery, in a sport setting, charity or in a similar classroom setting. However, this is not crucial – Graduates with no experience are still welcome!
A graduate with a strong educational background is required for this role including GCSE’s in Maths and English (C or above).
