Head of Design and Technology
TimePlan Education are working with a secondary school in Hertfordshire that are recruiting for a Head of Design and Technology for September 2021. This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that has achieved significant improvements in student achievement across all key stages. You will lead Design and Technology across KS3-5 with the delivery of GCSE’s and BTEC qualifications.
The department currently has one DT Teacher who is experienced and can teach all design and technology subjects. You will also be working closely with the Head of Art and Head of Computer Science as design and technology continues to grow across the school. There has been significant investment in the department and more to come, so this is a role that you can take real ownership on and you will have significant financial backing to drive the department forward.
In their most recent Ofsted inspection, the school was graded ‘good’ with ‘outstanding features’. Student outcomes are consistently improving, with particular focus on helping the students prepare for adult life. Ofsted commented on the fact that the school is moving towards being an ‘outstanding’ educational setting across all areas. With this in mind, it’s an exciting time to join.
The Headteacher considers this role to be vital for the school’s continued development. The salary on offer is MPS/UPS + TLR1, depending on experience. It is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to make the step up to middle leadership or for someone already in a similar role who is looking for a change.
