Brook has been the UK’s leading charity supporting, educating and empowering young people from diverse communities to make informed decisions about their sexual health and wellbeing for 55 years. We believe in a society where young people are free to be themselves.
Our mission is to equip young people for life’s challenges. We know being a young person can be tough, and through our innovative clinical services, digital support, tailored counselling and inspiring relationships and sex education, young people are able to take charge of their sexual health and wellbeing.
About this position
You will be responsible for leading Brook’s innovative and high-quality education, outreach and health promotion work across the UK. Brook is ready to launch an ambitious programme of growth which involves extending Brook’s reach to even more young people, the professionals who work with them and further supporting vulnerable groups of adults through community outreach and you will lead this next iteration of Brook’s vital education and promotion work.
You will ensure that all our education, wellbeing, health promotion and outreach work is led by high-quality management teams through which young people and adults are supported by services that truly meet their needs and are responsive to their lived experiences and local contexts. You will ensure that our local authority commissioners, trust and grand funders and corporate partners all experience Brook’s high standards and outstanding contract delivery.
We are seeking someone who has significant experience of working in Education, be that in schools, the FE sector or APUs/PRUs and someone who understands education contexts – the needs of teachers, school leaders, governors as well as having a relentless focus on the rights of every young person in every school to receive an outstanding RSHE curriculum.
You will be sex positive and interested in a whole life course approach to sexual and relational health which will enable you to successfully lead and develop our all-age health promotion services to groups of vulnerable adults. You will understand that sexual and relational health intersects with many other health determinants and will be a proponent of self-care and behaviour change in both physical and digital contexts.
You will be an experienced manager, capable of leading a well-established, dynamic and experienced team of Managers to deliver upon Brook’s ambitious plans. You will be a commanding leader and will have ability to coalesce and motivate a very large delivery team which is geographically spread around core aims and values. You will have proven project management experience, be able to make decisions, work autonomously, meet challenging targets and work to tight deadlines. You will be expected to represent the organisation externally and you will have excellent presentation and networking skills.
In return for your expertise, enterprise, initiative and drive, we can offer a truly supportive environment and genuinely interesting work for a charity that has a proud history and an exciting future.
