We are looking to appoint a Headteacher to steer our vibrant, outwardly focused successful secondary school as we enter the next phase of our journey.

The individual will understand and support our ethos of being a totally inclusive Single Academy Trust at the heart of the community, with the energy and drive to build on existing successes.

We are seeking a Headteacher who:

• Demonstrates energy and professional leadership, and shares our vision of ensuring every student achieves their full potential.
• Has the management skills and passion to lead our skilled Senior Leadership Team and dedicated staff.
• Will promote Penryn College in the local community, Cornwall and nationally by working collaboratively with our already well established, successful relationships.

Our commitment to excellence means we have been the most oversubscribed secondary school in Cornwall for the last 3 years and our Progress 8 is the second highest in Cornwall.

We are proud of our genuinely inspiring learning environment and our ambitious and diverse curriculum. We are participating in the “Creativity Collaboratives” programme, funded by the Arts Council England, testing and evaluating a range of innovative practices in teaching and learning.

Vitally, we are dedicated to working collaboratively across the school with staff, parents/carers, Trustees and our community to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils in a safe, nurturing environment. We actively welcome and support pupils with a diverse range of needs and our Area Resource Base for pupils with special needs places facilities for pupils and specialist staff at the front and centre of college life.

As one of the first Sports Colleges in England we have retained our focus on sports and extra-curricular activities to enrich the experiences of our pupils, partnering with the local professional rugby team, the Cornish Pirates, who provide player-student mentoring sessions.
