This lovely primary school based in Swindonfollows Christian values, it is a nurturing happy environment, where students can learn in a safe space. The headteacher is looking for a patient, kind individual who can put the students well being at the heart of all they do and work together as a team to manage challenging situations.
Your main duties will include covering lessons, there may be some planning involved within the role, so it is essential you have a strong knowledge of primary UK curriculum. Some students may have a special educational need, so it is desirable that you have experienced working with students with additional needs.
The successful candidate will:
Have a good general level of education, including Maths and English GCSE grade C/5 or above, or further relevant experience in the absence of formal qualifications
Have NVQ level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent
Have experience of working within the primary curriculum
Be confident with teaching both groups of children and a whole class, in the absence of a teacher
Have high expectations of all pupils’ achievements and behaviour, and a commitment to raising standards
Have the drive and motivation to create inspiring learning environments and engaging resources
Possess excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to working as part of a team, being able to communicate effectively with colleagues and external agencies
Be organised and able to show initiative, reflecting on their own practice
Be motivated, with a good sense of humour and an eagerness to learn and develop professionally
The role will be working full time, Monday to Friday, term time only, between the hours of 8:30am – 3:30pm. Commencing in January 2024, there will be an opportunity to visit the school for interview and trial days to get a better understanding of the role and environment.
