Key Stage 1 SEND Teaching Assistant (1:1 TA)

Vision for Education are looking to appoint a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Key Stage 1. Working at a Primary School in Newcastle, this position is set to begin in January 2022 up until March 2022, with the vision to extend further. The candidate must be available to work full time hours, Monday- Friday, 08:45-15:15. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning.
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable of how to best support a pupil with diverse needs and be comfortable working on a 1:1 basis. The successful Teaching Assistant must provide a supportive learning environment, offered through tailored support and positive behaviour. They must also be able to independently plan and undertake activities throughout the day to aid progression and learning. This will include liaising with the class teacher to discuss particular strategies and techniques which would be beneficial to the child.
The school is set within the Newcastle area and is rated as ‘good’ by Ofsted. The Head Teacher is highly supportive of all staff members and pupils and provides outstanding learning opportunities. The school set high behaviour expectations throughout and place importance on school values and ethos.
To be considered for the 1:1 Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant position, you will:
Have had experience of supporting children with diverse needs.
Hold a minimum of Level 3 Qualification in Teaching and Learning.
Have an excellent work ethic and positive attitude towards teaching and learning.
Have excellent communication skills.
Have excellent knowledge of the Key Stage 1 Curriculum.
Understand how to accommodate for diverse needs.
Be able to work independently and as part of a team to support pupils learning and development.
