The School and Role
This Good SEND school, based in South Tyneside, supports children and young people aged 3-16 and is looking to appoint a passionate Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to work in a year 5 class on a full-time basis. Working in this Primary and Secondary SEND school as part of an established team, the desired Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant will be working on a 1:1 and small class sized basis with pupils with SEND including Autism, MLD, SLD, ADHD, PMLD, Physical Disabilities, Sensory Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). This full time Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant role is long term from February until July 2024.
You will assist the class teacher with supporting teaching and learning, leading small group and 1:1 interventions as well as assisting pupils with their individual needs including personal care. You will be responsible for behaviour management as well as supporting the progress of pupils, liaising with staff and parents and participating in weekly CPD sessions.
School hours are 8:30-15:30pm Monday – Friday.
