Lecturer/Assessor in Electrical Installations

£28,433 – £31,615 per annum – Depending on Qualifications and Expereince
Based at the St Albans Campus / Travel required around Hertfordshire / Bedfordshire and London
Oaklands College, based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, are looking for a Lecturer/Assessor.
The successful candidate would be required to teach and assess on a range of Electrical Installation programmes at Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. We deliver apprenticeship programmes, full time level 1, 2 and 3 as well as commercial evening courses. We have a large number of students and apprentices who attend on full time and day release programmes.
The ideal candidate will have excellent Electrical Installation skills and knowledge to be able to teach and assess. The role will also involve participation in the quality assurance process for part of the Electrical Installation programmes. Holding a teaching qualification is desirable but not essential as training and the chance to achieve a teaching qualification whilst working for the College will be provided. Candidates would need to hold a Assessor Award.
The successful candidate would be required to teach and assess Level 3 students studying Electrical Installation via work-based learning and apprenticeship programme delivery.
Applicants holding a D34, V1 or TAQA Level 4 would be desirable however the College would support training for these qualifications once started in the role.
Due to the nature of the role you will be required to travel between various sites and employers; standard mileage rates will be paid; a full driving licence and car are essential.
Hours for the teaching role would involve daytime teaching and some evening classes, timetable to be confirmed.
