Senior Lecturer / Team Leader in Applied Maths and Engineering Science required at a highly respected military training organisation, MKC Training based at The Royal School of Military Engineering, Chatham, Kent.
You will teach Royal Engineer army students undertaking their training up to BSc level, whilst leading a team of five specialist teaching staff within the department.
Person Requirements:
University Degree level qualification incorporating Applied or Engineering Mathematics.
Level 5 Teaching Qualification OR willingness to acquire one within two years of commencement.
Use of Applied Mathematics in practical engineering environments strongly preferred.
Strong team leadership skills.
Responsibilities will include:
– Line Management;
Team lead for five subordinate lecturing staff;
Performance and Development Reports
Undertake Management Lesson Observations
Managing and participating in the Extended Day Regime (overtime rota)
Manage staff Leave/Sickness
– Regular liaison with Royal Engineer management, quality management, training design and MKCTS senior management team
– Training Delivery (Mathematics and Engineering Science);
Lecturing up to Degree Level
Creation of teaching materials including Lesson Plans, Tutorials, Assignments and assessment instruments
Develop and support teaching material on an electronic platform
Procurement of expendables and department equipment
Ensure scheduling and operability of resources
Experiential Learning Development;
Practical Investigation (laboratory work)
Marking of assessment/assignment/report
Creation of Schemes of Work to support training
Training required in post:
Attend an Army Staff Leadership School (ASLS) course.
Attend a Defence Instructional Techniques (DIT) course.
Attend appropriate training courses as new methods of work are adopted.

Salary – £53K + Excellent Benefits and Training.

Core working hours Mon – Thurs, 8-4.30; Friday 8 – 4.
