Job Overview:
Our partnered secondary school in Greenwich is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Head of Maths to lead their hardworking and high-achieving department. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about mathematics and committed to delivering the highest quality of education to all students.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Maths Department, ensuring a high standard of teaching and learning.
Plan, develop, and deliver an engaging and comprehensive mathematics curriculum.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching practices and student performance.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
Collaborate with other department heads and senior leadership to contribute to the overall strategic direction of the school.
Support and mentor mathematics teachers, promoting continuous professional development.
Ensure that the department meets all regulatory and examination board requirements.
Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and other activities that promote the department and the school.
Qualifications and Experience:
A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
Significant teaching experience within a secondary school setting.
Previous leadership or management experience is highly desirable.
A proven track record of improving student outcomes in mathematics.
Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
The ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff.
