Position: Music Teacher

Location: Rawtenstall, Lancashire

Start date: ASAP, however the school can accommodate a later start date for the right candidate

We are seeking to appoint a passionate and inspiring part time Music Teacher and practitioner who will make a valuable contribution to our outstanding Performing Arts Department.

This currently consists of a Subject Leader of Music and a Subject Leader of Drama. Music courses at KS3 offer a valuable curriculum experience for all our young people. Music is a popular option subject at KS4, and children regularly achieve exceptionally well. A full extra-curricular programme, including collaborations with a strong Drama department, ensure that children’s wider curriculum experiences are enhanced.

You will:

• Be expected to plan and mark all coursework
• Attend staff and department meeting
• Part of your planning will also be spread across a group learning schedule within the department
• Be required to work in partnership with TA’s and other members of the department
• Contribute to the overall success of the pupils

Applicants must be approachable, compassionate, child-centred, pro-active, resilient and solution-focused.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be capable of building and maintaining positive working relationships.
