Salary £20,000 to £27,000 Depending on experience – 8.30am to 4.30pm – Must drive

Term Time Only ( Paid Overtime in School Holidays Available )

Are you experienced in the field of education and supporting students on a pastoral level? Would you be keen to take on a non-class based role where you will help students who are struggling in mainstream education to stay in school!

Who can be an Outreach Worker?

Successful Outreach Workers have good experience working in schools. They can be teachers who no longer want to teach, support staff in terms of Teaching Assistants or Academic Mentors or they can be from external agencies that work in schools. The most important part of the role is an understanding nature and the desire to help students regain their confidence and love of education.

Essential Criteria:

Ability to deliver workshops and group sessions, either 1to1 or groups
Ability to work as part of a multi-agency team and provide appropriate advice and guidance to support decision making
Experience in working with children and young people who have experienced Trauma, ideally working specifically with young people
Confidence in working on building a young person’s resilience
Experience of case management and providing advice and support
Sound working knowledge of attachment theory
A preliminary knowledge of child protection procedures
SEN experience

The post holder must hold a full UK driving license and have full access to their own car. The role requires the post holder to be prepared to travel to the young people either in their temporary or permanent Schools. They will also be a requirement to take children offsite.
