We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher in Performing Arts within the Creative Industries Faculty based at Reading College.
This post provides an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning. The post will be to teach UAL Performing Arts courses across a range of levels.
This is a fixed-term, part time (0.5 FTE) contract to provide maternity cover. Formal teaching in the role won’t be needed until September 2022, however we are keen to bring a candidate on board from August 2022 to get settled and feeling prepared prior to the new academic year.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
Successful candidates will have an appropriate professional qualification and/or a degree, recent teaching experience and the ability to deliver a programme that will cover acting, dance and singing. Whilst we would prefer applications from qualified teachers who hold a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, we would consider applications from unqualified applicants, depending on other experience. Unqualified candidates would start at a lower salary point and this could be discussed at interview, if successfully shortlisted.
In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.
