In order to be considered for the position, the ideal candidate will have experience working with children. The candidate should have classroom experience in order to be considered.

About the role – Primary Teaching assistant – Tower Hamlets

In the borough of Tower Hamlets, there is an opportunity for a primary teacher assistant to join a mainstream school as a teaching assistant. You will be assisting the teacher with daily tasks that revolve around the daily routine of students from KS1 to KS2, and you will be providing support to the children from KS1 to KS2. Teachers’ assistants are responsible for providing on a daily basis assistance to students who have special needs or learning disabilities in primary schools and working closely with them in order to support their academic abilities. It is very important that as a primary school teaching assistant, you develop a good relationship with the children you will be working with, whether they are in groups or individually. Developing a good relationship with the children you will be working with, is therefore an essential part of your job description. As a teacher assistant, you will have a lot of interaction with all the teachers at the Primary School, including the SENDCO and the other teacher assistants. Additionally, there are also opportunities for you to be a part of intervention groups for children in your class or within your year group, which is very exciting to see!
