Role Summary

The Programme Lead, Scotland (PLS) will work closely with the other PLS and the Joint Heads of Programme to develop and implement the plan for the new BFI funded programmes and any additionally funded work across Scotland. The PLS manages a regional Programme Coordinator, directing and supporting them in their role to achieve the various targets/KPIs, strategic objectives and outcomes for this charity’s work. The PLS will work collaboratively with all departments through a matrix management model ensuring a joined up and streamlined approach across three main programme strands. The PLS and PC will develop and maintain a range of partnerships across Scotland.

Due to the nature of the role, occasional weekend and extended working hours are required, along with regular travel to designated regions and occasional travel elsewhere in the UK.

Main Responsibilities:

• To ensure the activation team are able to implement operational plans for BFI and other programmes and projects across the UK, working instep and joined up with all teams
• To maintain, develop and oversee partnership work, relationships and initiatives with schools, individuals, and organisations that are pertinent to their 3 main programme strands, Film for Learning, Screen Careers and Filmmaking and any other funded work.
• To ensure a focus on diversity, representation and EEDI and targeted work.
• Working closely with Marcomms to ensure UK wide reach and awareness of the charity across all programme strands.
• As directed by the Joint Heads of Programmes, support the implementation of the delivery plan through Activation Coordinators, colleagues, partners and stakeholders, meeting targets/KPIs, set outcomes and managing the budgets thereof.
• Lead on the evolution of partnership work including delivery through them and key relationships in Scotland that aid the success of the programmes both internally and externally.
• Work on fundraising proposals as appropriate

Person Specification:

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience, of directing and supporting the implementation of operational plans to meet strategic objectives targets/KPIs and set outcomes.
• Experience of managing a team and liaising across workstreams and departments.
• Experience of ensuring the training and guidance is in place for the team to successfully deliver all elements of their programmes (including but not limited to training/CPD, events, conferences relationship management)
• Ability and experience of initiating, maintaining and overseeing partnership work getting buy-in from colleagues and those who will also be involved in implementation of the plan.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in all mediums and experience of being and advocate for the charity at events/conferences etc.
• Ability and experience of ensuring EEDI work is central to implementation of the programme and endeavouring to reach those who are underrepresented and underserved.
• Understanding and experience of what young people, teachers, schools and those working in the realm of careers need to be able to participate and benefit from their UK wide programmes including the educational backdrop and context of schools in Scotland.
• Experience and understanding of monitoring and evaluation and managing feedback and advocacy loops (teacher and young peoples’ panels for example)
• Knowledge and experience of fundraising and how using key local knowledge and desk-based research is effective in success.
• Understanding of CRM reporting, dashboards and data analysis.
