Psychologist/Therapeutic Practitioner Role
Salary: £55,000 per annum
Just to highlight we are looking for the candidate to cover the South Midlands (Northampton, Milton Keynes and Beford). This will be combined to home and work domain based. This is open to negotiation but there will be an expectation of being in the services through the week but how this is done is very flexible as a process.
The candidate will be home based initially then at some point both office and home based.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing new service. The service aims to improve young peoples’ well-being and psychological functioning to promote the process of reunification back to a familial environment. The main treatments consist of weekly individual and group therapy sessions over 18 to 24 month periods utilizing a variety of psychological interventions both with the young person and family members. We would provide the post-holder with training and supervision commensurate with their role. The post holder will be involved in assessments of the young people and deliver individual and group based work. The treatment formulations will involve a highly structured treatment frame and a thorough diagnostic assessment process.
Specialist consultation to the young person services is also part of the role, supporting staff in working with young people and families.
We would train the post-holder in facilitating a SUN group . Service User Network groups are coping skills and crisis planning groups. These use a containing structure, drawing on the ideas of group members to support each other.
The post holder would need a postgraduate qualification in psychology (research, clinical, forensic, applied, etc) and/or therapeutic qualification and experience of working with young people, and learning disability and mental health experience. We will consider other disciplines such as social work background and community youth workers with relevant qualifications.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year (Starting salary will be dictated by qualifications and experience)
Schedule:
• Monday to Friday
• Sometimes weekend work may be required
• You will be expected to cover a large geographic area of delivering services
Education:
• Postgraduate qualification (Essential)
Experience:
• Working within therapeutic services minimum of 2 years
• Health and Social Care background: minimum of 2 years
• Working with children and young people: minimum of 2 years
• Driving license is essential
You will be line managed by the Clinical Lead.
