Job Title: Psychotherapist (BACP registered) for Children and Young People

Location: Regional Role, South-West London

Salary: Up to – £45,000 dependent on experience.

What are we looking for?

Enthusiastic, motivated, and creative Psychotherapists of all levels. We have the capacity to sponsor candidates who require a visa, so if you’re interested, please get in touch.

Mandatory Requirements:

• BACP registration
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Psychotherapy

Desirable:

• Paediatric experience
• Experience working within school settings
• Experience working with families
• Specialist CPD and/or training

Role Overview:

The Child Psychotherapist plays a pivotal role in supporting children and young people who are experiencing behavioural, emotional, social and psychological difficulties using language and play to observe, assess, help and treat.

You will be working within a school environment and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and teaching staff to ensure holistic care and imbedded interventions. Additionally, the role involves training and upskilling teaching staff to effectively support the children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use psychoanalytic psychotherapy to assess and treat the child or young person using a variety of creative approaches to suit the individual.
• Develop and implement individualised intervention plans to provide psychotherapeutic treatment to children and young people, either individually or in a group.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapeutic support into the learning environment and facilitate their participation in school.
• Provide ongoing monitoring and evaluation of intervention effectiveness, adjusting plans as necessary to optimise outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, case notes, and intervention plans in accordance with regulatory standards and LCP policies.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary meetings to contribute expertise and ensure coordinated care for students with complex needs.
