Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 (dependant on experience)

Purpose of the Job
The Senior Receptionist will work closely with the Senior Office Manager to deliver an effective and efficient centralised support service. The Senior Receptionist will supervise two School Receptionists and will lead attendance administration.
The School Reception is the first point of call for visitors to the school, parents, students and staff and as the face of the school the Senior Administrator should be welcoming, personable, helpful and able to represent the school in a professional and friendly manner.
It is essential that the person for this role is organised, able to multi-task, work flexibly and have a can do approach to work, as no two days are the same.
The ideal candidate should possess an NVQ in Business Administration or other equivalent qualifications. You will have experience of working in an office supervisory role with proven leadership and delegation skills. Experience of working in the education sector is desirable but not essential. As the Senior Receptionist you must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of providing a high standard of customer service. It is essential you have strong computer literacy skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and the ability to analyse data carefully and pick up new systems quickly.
Responsibilities:
Supervise the office hub and front of house team.
Twice daily collation of registers and checking for absences.
Coordinate the first day calling of absences.
Communicating with parents regarding all aspects of school life, receiving and passing on information between parents and teachers in a timely manner with minimum disruption to lessons.
Distribution of correspondence to parents.
To assist with the maintenance of databases (SIMs), creating and updating records, and producing reports.
Coordinate the delegation of administration tasks across the office hub.
Ensure the office hub team follow safeguarding procedures by issuing passes and lanyards to visitors, ensuring that visitors are signed into the school and checking DBS information for visitors.
To deal effectively with telephone calls, transferring callers to relevant staff and taking and passing on messages as required.
Maintain the general email accounts for reception responding to queries / directing enquiries as required.
To Administer First Aid and complete accident reports.
Create mailing labels as required.
Help maintain general order in the school e.g. clearing lost property and tidying notice boards.
Assist with management of building and locker keys.
Ensure cost effective procedures are followed for requisitions of stationery.
Any other duties as required by the Principal or other members of the Senior Leadership Team.
Be aware of and comply with all School policies and procedures particularly relating to child protection, equal opportunities, health and safety and security, confidentiality and data protection; reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
Carry out all duties with regard to the school s policies and codes of conduct.
Participate in training and other learning activities as required and to participate in appraisal and professional development.
Set high expectations of conduct, whilst acting as a good role model for others
