An outstanding OFSTED rated secondary school in Central London is looking for an imaginative, resilient, empowering and inspiring Religious Studies teacher to joint their highly renowned Humanities department and multi-ethnic school community.
As a member of the Humanities department, you would work alongside a highly motivated team of teachers and leaders who inspire a passion for their subjects – Geography, History, Religious Studies, Citizenship and Business – and who collaborate across departments on exciting whole school initiatives. The department has a constant focus on the quality of teaching and learning, supported by weekly peer-to-peer professional development.
The Humanities department achieves outstanding results, with excellent progress achieved at both KS4 and KS5. Students prepare for the Religious Studies GCSE by being taught challenging, thought provocative and engaging content from Year 7 onwards. Students are encouraged to develop critical thinking and communication skills as they evaluate religious views and ideas. In 2019, the GCSE cohort achieved fantastic results, with 69% passing at grade 5 and above, and a progress score of 0.7.
The ideal candidate for this post will be:
Enthusiastic, driven, and an excellent classroom practitioner who is committed to student success and development
Experienced in planning and delivering KS3 and GCSE Religious Studies
Willing to contribute to extra-curricular activities
Experienced in teaching the relevant subject(s) with a relevant university degree (desirable)
Able to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to their own professional growth and development
Able to reinforce and uphold the vision, values, mission ethos and strategic aims of the
school and adhere to the agreed policies and practices of the school
