Residential Support Worker
Location: Mackworth, Derby DE22 4LL
Salary: Starting at £31,140.20 per annum
Hours: 3 on 3 off condensed hours rota, 50 .75 hours per week, 52 weeks
Our client is a small school, with capacity for 18 children, including 7 residential placements, for children aged 6-16 with a range and complexity of needs including: Autistic Spectrum Conditions, Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties and Disabilities, Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties, associated behavioural difficulties and Prader Willi Syndrome. They are now looking to add to their care team.
The Role
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of a welcoming and supportive team and to help develop a vibrant and modern residential provision. Their Residential Support Workers support the children to find a way of life that suits them and to help them achieve their maximum potential level of independence. You will play a key role in the delivery of a sound, consistent care provision.

Skills and Qualifications
English and Maths BTEC Level 2/GCSE/equivalent
Willingness to undertake accredited courses and mandatory training within the time set
Right to work in UK
Experience of working in a residential school / care setting and with children and young people
Hold a relevant L3 Diploma (or be willing to work towards achieving this)
Be resilient and able to work with, and support others to work with, challenging behaviour
How to care for and support others
Knowledge of the role and an understanding of its rewards and challenges
Able to work under guidance of a Team Leader
Good verbal and listening skills
Ability to work as a team member
Able to use own initiative
Able to work in challenging circumstances
No history of misconduct associated with working with children, young adults or other vulnerable groups
