My primary school in Evesham are looking for a Business Manager to ensure the smooth running of the school office. The manager works closely with the Headteacher and is the point of contact for all visitors to school. The manager needs to be confident, self-motivating, organised and be able to work efficiently under pressure. The role has six main areas: 1. Finance Duties 2. Health and Safety 3. Premises 4. Administration Duties 5. Data Administration 6. Marketing Duties The bsuness manager must lead, operate , maintain and develop the financial procedures and systems of the school, in co-operation with the Strategic Leadership Team. To be responsible for the school site and its buildings and maintenance To function as line manager for office administrator and cleaning staff Play a central role in the Strategic Leadership Team. Ensuring that the school is fully prepared to meet OFSTED financial criteria. To liaise with relevant members of the LA/Council. Working with the Headteacher to prepare an annual budget for the school. Ensuring the school has appropriate financial systems and managing all aspects of the school s financial systems Preparation for approval by the governors of annual estimates of income and expenditure. Manage SAP finance software and giving guidance to others. To co-operate, initiate and manage audit procedures as necessary. To write bids for funding as required by LA/ DfE Managing the tendering for all service contracts; monitoring all insurance policies with a view to cost effectiveness; and ensuring that the school maximises its potential from the LA. To assist the Headteacher in the monitoring, implementation and review of the school s Health & Safety Policy The Manager will be responsible for the overall management and maintenance of the building, facilities, grounds, fabric and furnishing of the school, working with the Headteacher. Through regular contact with the premises staff ensuring the proper maintenance and repair of the school is carried out, and progress monitored.
