Tradewind Recruitment are looking for a passionate science graduate looking to join a vibrant and highly-reputed secondary school in Southwest London, based in the London borough of Merton! The school in question are seeking an enthusiastic Science Technician to be part of the Science department, starting in January 2024 and then continuing until the end of the academic year.

Role Overview:

As a Science Technician, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the smooth operation of the science labs and helping with in-class support with classes. Your responsibilities will include:

Lab Maintenance and Preparation:

• Setting up and dismantling equipment for practical experiments and demonstrations
• Ensuring all apparatus and materials are ready and safe for use
• Maintaining a clean and organised laboratory environment.

Resource Management:

• Monitoring and managing inventory levels of chemicals, specimens, and equipment.
• Assisting in the procurement of laboratory supplies as needed.
• Keeping accurate records of stock and orders.

Technical Support:

• Collaborating with teachers to support practical lessons and experiments.
• Offering technical assistance during classes and workshops.

Requirements:

A degree in a science-related field.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Passion for science and education.

Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
