Workshop Science Teacher

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to deliver hands on science workshops in primary schools, Our current presenters are ex-teachers, scientists or both! Full training will be given for the candidate with energetic and exciting presenting skills.

Workshop Science Teacher Responsibilities:

• Deliver hands on science workshops in primary schools.
• The workshop presenter needs to be able to drive and have use of a reliable car (mileage paid).
• All kit, resources, plans and training are provided. Kit will need to be collected daily from Bishop’s Stortford before travelling onwards so the presenter will need to live fairly close to our base.

Workshop Science Teacher Requirements:

• A teacher with knowlege of the primary and or science curriculum would be be able to step straight into this role.
• An ability to make learning fun is more important than extensive science knowlege but science knowlege would be a big advantage.
• Experience with children in an educational environment.

Workshop Science Teacher Scedhule:

The role is part-time, ideally 2-3 days per week.

These can be fixed days or flexible, term time or year round and there are opportunities for extra work at weekends (but this is not necessary).

Our existing presenters fit the work around tutoring, running a forest school, supply teaching, family commitments and working on a PhD.

Further Information

The schools are located in a wide area so there is quite a bit of travelling with some early starts.

Salary is £30K pro rata plus travel costs.
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
