Are you a dedicated and resilient individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs? Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our team and contribute to one of our high schools specialising in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) support.

About the School:

Our client is an SEMH school that offers a supportive environment for children who have been relocated from mainstream schools due to challenging behaviour. The school, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, is committed to delivering quality education and care to assist children in overcoming their additional needs.

Responsibilities:

As a Teaching Assistant in this challenging yet rewarding role, you will play a vital part in supporting children to overcome behavioural challenges. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing one-on-one support to students with SEMH needs.
• Assisting in the implementation of individual education plans.
• Building strong and trusting relationships with students to support their social and emotional development.
• Collaborating with teachers and support staff to create a positive learning environment.

Requirements:

To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following:

• Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, especially those with SEMH needs.
• Confidence, resilience, and empathy to handle challenging behaviours.
• Commitment to the role, recognising the importance of building bonds and trust with students.
• Relevant qualifications and certifications (desired but not essential).
