Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teacher:

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the needs of students with special educational needs (SEN).
• Work closely with the SENCO and other staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Support and monitor the progress of SEN pupils, ensuring they are fully integrated into the school community.
• Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to support students’ learning and well-being.
• Contribute to the wider school community, promoting inclusion and a positive learning environment for all.

Key Requirements of a SEN Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience in working with children with SEN.
• A deep understanding of a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Patience, creativity, and resilience, with a passion for helping every child succeed.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with best practices in SEN education.
