SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 support)

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced, motivated and resilient Teaching Assistant to support a student in a Mainstream Primary school in Wigan (WN6).

You will be supporting a child in KS2 with suspected autism, behavioural and social difficulties. The child will need to be assisted both inside and out of the classroom and responds well to consistency.

Located close to Wigan centre, the school is easily accessed by public transport and has onsite parking available.

The position is open to all those who have a background in Teaching Assistant, support work, voluntary or supporting a family member with learning difficulties. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in a similar setting
• LEVEL 2 Teaching Assistant/or equivalent and above is preferable
• GCSE Maths and English and Computer literate
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
