SEN Teaching Assistant – EAL
£65 – £85 per day
GSL Education is working with various mainstream and SEN Primary schools in Leicester, who are looking for experienced teaching assistants with EAL experience.
The role is to support EAL pupils with special educational needs, so it is essential you have some knowledge/ background about the disorder as all individuals will have different types of characteristics and display differing behaviours.
You will be supporting day-to-day learning and interventions to progress their attainment. You will be expected to understand learning strategies that have been identified to support them accordingly.
In this role, you will face differing behaviours so you will need to display compassion, empathy and patience in order to motivate and encourage the pupil.
The successful candidate should have a strong commitment to inclusive education for children with EAL and be capable of working both independently and as part of a team in the friendly, dynamic and successful schools.
Successful candidates will have
Experience with children with SEN, along with experience of differing communication styles
Experience of working with young children with EAL is desirable
A level 2 teaching & learning qualification is desired
