SEND Secondary Teaching Assistant Maidstone
Full-Time, Long-Term Contract until July 2025

Supply Desk are seeking dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistants in Maidstone and surrounding areas to support students aged 14-18 with a range of special educational needs, challenging behaviour, and from vulnerable backgrounds. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on young people s lives in long-term roles starting in September, with the potential to join the school permanently.

About the Role: We are looking for enthusiastic and positive Teaching Assistants who are passionate about supporting young people with SEND and are ready to take on a rewarding challenge. You will be working closely with students who may have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), or behavioural difficulties. The role may also involve 1:1 support and classroom-based assistance to help students reach their full potential.

Ideal candidates will:

• Have experience supporting young people with SEND, challenging behaviour, or those from vulnerable backgrounds (14-18 age group).
• Be calm, patient, and resilient with a positive approach.
• Be able to manage and support challenging behaviours effectively.
• Ideally have experience or training in Makaton, PECS, or Team Teach (preferred but not essential).
• Be proactive, flexible, and a strong team player.
• Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS (on the update service).
