Purpose of the role:
Are you a qualified tutor looking to take the next step in your career? If you have real passion and vision, you can develop tutors for Britains leading educational charity.
The Workers Educational Association is a unique charity and the UKs largest voluntary sector provider of adult education. With a clear vision and a strong social purpose, we bring great teaching to local communities, with life-changing courses held in clubs, pubs, workplaces, schools and almost anywhere else you can think of. Since 1903, we have been giving disadvantaged people the opportunity to return to learning – inspiring them to realise their full potential and become active, engaged citizens. We see education as a tool for social justice, not just self-improvement, and we pride ourselves on making learning egalitarian and accessible. Volunteers play a central role in everything we do, from governance through to classroom support, helping us deliver courses to 50,000 people in 2,300 locations – and enabling us to reach 80% of the population.
Key areas of responsibility:
Our tutors are the public face of the organisation – but they are far more than just teachers. Encouraging and supporting students as equals, they build their confidence, knowledge and skills, actively enrich their lives and do whatever it takes to help them get wherever they want to go.

You will be capable of coaching colleagues to release their full potential, and passionate about transforming futures. Equally importantly, you will be deeply dedicated to innovation and inclusion, and you will be able to learn fast to become a leading voice within the organisation.
You will be a confident and exceptional tutor, qualified teacher or experienced tutor.
Competent IT user as will be required to deliver both face to face and online as well as developing resources for our VLE.
