SEN SLD Teaching Assistant – Preston

Veritas Education Preston are looking to recruit full time Teaching Assistants for special educational needs school in Preston.

The school supports pupils with Severe Learning disability , Predominantly non Verbal or limited verbals. The pupils need full support with all of their day to day needs be this school activities, personal care, accessing the community. High likelihood of behaviours that challenge in these phases.

They also support pupils whose pathway is access to GCSE. Pupils generally come to this school from mainstream school with no diagnosed learning disability but often with additional challenges other than their Autism. The pupils are often challenged by High levels of anxiety, need support to access their GCSE’s at a pace that suits them but also to be encouraged to access and participate in community and learn independence skills.

• Previous experience supporting ASD, Down Syndrome and Non-Verbal learners
• Previous experience working with SEMH/BESD students and dealing with challenging behaviour/classroom support. (not essential)
• Previous experience of nursery work (not essential)

All pay rates that are offered will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. Our working opportunities include temporary positions, permanent contracts and ad-hoc supply.
