Five Education is proud to be supporting a Special Provision in Patchway area, and we are looking for strong Lead support workers to teach and assist with a range of ages and ASD-related needs. The provision has a high influx of students in KS2 & KS3, and successful candidates will be assisting the students in the development of their academic and social skills. For applications for the role, experience is recommended as you will be working with unique and specific needs. However, it is more important to bring enthusiasm, pro-activity and resilience to the role. An interest in sport is also preferred as you will be working closely with students who have a passion for sport. Responsibilities and duties: Can build good relationships with children who struggle to engage and stay motivated Strong interest in sport and working Has good communication skills to liaise with staff and pupils Can lead inspiring interventions to help engage pupils Leading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels Supporting pupils in and out of class who present with special educational needs Liaising with the school SENCO and the class teacher around the progress of pupils Providing pastoral support to children with social and emotional needs Essential Criteria: Enthusiastic about working with young people and SEN, previous experience is preferred but not necessary 2-years worth of references A Child-enhanced DBS check (or eligible for acquisition) Able to work between the hours of 8:30 and 15:30 and a minimum of 2 days per week What can Five Education offer you?
