Teacher Primary or Secondary qualified KS2 & KS3 – Northampton SEMH School Full time temporary to permanent avaliable Simply Education is currently working with a SEMH School in Northampton that supports young people between the ages of 11 – 16 years. They are looking to appoint a Primary Teacher or Secondary Teacher who can successfully deliver lessons to small groups of children who find mainstream education challenging as the young people are working at a key stage 2 curriculum. As a teacher will be responsible for delivering a high quality of teaching and learning to a group of students aged 11-16 years with social and emotional difficulties, anxiety disorders and mental health needs. Students may present challenging behaviour so having the ability to adapt teaching style and using positive behaviour management is key. Your focus will be on increasing academic and vocational qualifications and knowledge, whilst achieving independent living skills that will equip young people for the next stage in their lives, be that further education, training, or work. Key duties: Contribute to the delivery and development of the national curriculum and having a regard to the educational, physical, and social needs of the students within a learning environment. Work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Maintain and use short-, medium- and long-term plans in delivering the curriculum. Set, monitor, and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each- individual. Contribute to the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP and LAC reviews. Provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation, and challenge. A passion for based activities Qualities Required for the Teacher Position Essential: PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training To be able to confidently deliver lessons Ability to work as part of team. Good teaching and communication skills, both written and verbal. Effective skills in planning, preparation, recording and reviewing students progress. Good IT skills and understand of how IT can be used to support learning. Ability to remain calm and reflective when working in a challenging environment. Proven ability to work on own initiative, be well organised, prioritise effectively and achieve results against deadlines.
