The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing support to students in Key Stage 2 up to Key Stage 4, who present with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Physical Education Support: Lead and assist in the planning and delivery of PE lessons, ensuring that the activities are engaging, inclusive, and tailored to the diverse needs of the students.
• Nurturing and Mentoring: Provide mentorship and support to students, with a focus on nurturing their social, emotional, and mental well-being. Many of the students may be dealing with PTSD and severe anxiety, so a compassionate and understanding approach is essential.
• Behavioural Support: Work closely with the classroom teachers and SENCO to implement behaviour management strategies and interventions, promoting a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Individualised Plans: Contribute to the development and implementation of individualised education and behaviour plans, tailoring support to the unique needs of each student.
• Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with the wider school team, including teachers, support staff, and external professionals, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to student development.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Relevant qualifications in sports coaching or a related field.
• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
• Ability to engage and inspire students through sports and physical activities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care and strategies to support individuals with PTSD and severe anxiety.
